Plate system in oral&maxillofacial

Plate system ใน maxillofacial trauma มีหลายแบบ เท่าที่นึกออกแบ่งได้เป็นดังนี้

แบ่งตามขนาดของ plate
1. Large plate คือ plate ตั้งแต่ 2.4 mm ขึ้นไป
2. Small plate หรือ miniplate คือ plate ขนาดตั้งแต่ 2.0 mm ลงไป

แบ่งตามลักษณะของ plate ที่กระทำกับ bone
1. Non-compression plate เช่น miniplate(ขนาดเล็กจนไม่ compress bone) , Locking plate (หัว screw จะมีเกลียว lock กับ plate ทำให้ไม่กด bone)
2. Compression plate เช่น Large plate ทั้งหลาย (Trauma plate, Reconstruction plate) , Dynamic compression plate (DCP) พวกนี้จะมีเกลียวที่ plate ที่ทำให้กด bone เข้าหากัน

แบ่งตามลักษณะการรับแรงของ plate
1. Load bearing คือ plate รับน้ำหนักทั้งหมด เช่นพวก reconstruction plate ใช้ใน comminuted fracture, หรือ fx ที่มี bone lost เกิด bone gap
2. Load sharing คือ plate ที่ไม่ได้รับน้ำหนักเองทั้งหมด มี bone มาช่วยรับแรงด้วย เช่น miniplate , DCP พวกนี้ต้องไม่ comminuted fx, ไม่มี bone gap
